JANUARY
On January, mackerel, bluefish, bonito, horse mackerel preserve the taste. Gray mullet and anchovy is full-fat. Small bluefish, large bluefish, whiting, umbra, flounder can easily be found on the market. Red mullet and red gurnard is fished abundantly. Goat fish, swordfish, bream, dentex are not fished much.

FEBRUARY
Turbot season starts and continues until the end of May. Red mullet is still abundant. Mackerel, bluefish, bonito start to loose its fat. Smelt, flounder, umbra is tasty.
MARCH
Gray mullet, sea bass and turbot is tasty. Mackerel is about to become kipper, it can be fried or stewed. Smelt starts to be abundant. Bluefish and bonito start to loose the fat and it is convenient only for frying and stewing. Large bluefish can be grilled. Umbra and red mullet is tasty as always.
APRIL
It is the most abundant season of turbot. Bream, sea bass, swordfish and red gurnard starts to be abundant. Swordfish is not tasty in April and May as it is in August and November. Smelt, gray mullet, whiting, umbra, red mullet and goatfish are fished abundantly. Meager starts in this month. It is as tasty as sea bass. Mackerel is now kipper.
MAY
Sea bass, goat fish, sole fish, red mullet, swordfish and scorpion fish is fished abundantly and eaten with pleasure. Mackerel, large bonito, bonito, anchovy and horse mackerel had lost its fat. Gray mullet is still tasty.
JUNE
This month, not much fishing is performed. Since deep sea fish lay eggs, they swim as scattered. Due to this reason, June is not productive regarding fishing. Red mullet, goat fish, bream, dentex, sea bass and meager is found less.
JULY
The season of sardine had started. It is tasty until mid-October. Spanish mackerel, horse mackerel, mackerel is convenient for frying and steam and oven cooking. Red mullet and goat fish is again tasty. Gray mullet is not tasty in this month, it is fished less.
AUGUST
Baby bonito opens the season. Its length is as the mackerel or longer. It is preferred more than sea bass. It is the tastiest time of sardine. Again in this month, swordfish is very tasty. Spanish mackerel is fried or stewed. Pickerel is tasty. Gray mullet is not recommended.
SEPTEMBER
Sardine and swordfish is tasty. Bonito gets bigger. It is convenient for all types of cooking. Bluefish is expensive. Spanish mackerel, horse mackerel and red gurnard is abundant.
OCTOBER
It is the month in which mobile fish is grown in the Black sea and starts to migrate to Marmara. Due to this reason, fishing is performed abundantly. Mackerel starts to show up. Bluefish is tasty. Horse mackerel is full-fat. Bonito, red mullet, goat fish, swordfish, sea bass, dentex, bream, sardine, meager, umbra, large bonito, pickerel and smelt is fished abundantly.
NOVEMBER
The best time for mackerel. Fish, which is abundant and tasty in October is tasty in this month also. Large bonito flow starts. It is pickled in brine. It is the tastiest month of brill.
DECEMBER
Mackerel, bluefish, bonito and large bonito is full-fat and it can be cooked in all methods. Anchovy is also tasty. Red mullet is abundant.
